This is thoughtful and very much relatable. I'm from Ghana, and rightly said, the basic stuff most people in the Western world have as a given are luxury to us.

I'm not complaining, but we work twice as hard for the basic stuff they don't even have to think of.

A 9-5 is exactly what saw us through education to now have the advantage to consider side hustle and multiple income streams in an attempt to elevate our financial position and hopefully offer the next generation in our family much of these PRIVILEGES our parents couldn't enjoy.
